10 Festive 4th of July Recipes
Who doesn't love a good independence day blowout? Red, white and blue everything. Fun and games. Colorful fireworks. And as always, yummy food! Need I say more?!
I have so many fond memories of 4th of July parties gone by, getting together with family to enjoy time together, partaking in some scrumptious grilled American fare, or a fish fry. In recent years the celebrations have waned. But I am looking very forward to observing America's birthday this year with the goal of celebrating with the same gusto as in the past!
I've been looking for possible food choices to add to my party plans, and I've stumbled across several options that I would love to share with you. Here is a roundup of holiday recipe ideas, straight from the creative mind of fellow bloggers, that are sure to make your party not only ooze Americana, but assault your tastebuds, too!
A nice simple sugar cookie that includes crackly Poprocks is sure to impress the kiddos of your life! Found on momdot.com.
Some people don't enjoy fruit in their lettuce salads, and I respect that - but I really enjoy it! I can imagine this salad is not festive when assembled, but is a great combination of sweet and savory. This would be a beautiful side dish at a backyard bbq! Found on ninered.blogspot.com.
I love pudding cookies, they are always so soft and moist! This recipe looks easy, and you really can't go wrong with a nice holiday variation of "chocolate chip cookies".
Found on Crazy for Crust [a great site for recipes, fyi!].
While the star shape makes this recipe distinctly festive, I feel like these would be awesome with a cheese tray, or even a dip! They look absolutely delicious, easy to make, and unique. Found on Mom Foodie blog.
The hamburger is quintessentially American, and this tasty spin on a classic feels so appropriate! While the onion strings and burger sauce are homemade, you can be sure that if you put the work in, you know it will be even more delicious than if you just slapped some cheese on some pre-pattied beef! Found on House of Nash Eats.
I've loved all the recipes I've ever tried on this site, and I know this one would be no exception! This salad looks refreshing, creamy, and full of American color. It would be a nice, light dessert for any summer fete!
Found on South In Your Mouth, one of my favorite recipe sites!
How about a 4th of July brunch?! You could serve these beautiful berry and white chocolate scones, which are bursting with patriotism! [and maybe pair it with some fruit salad, like the one below?] I am a sucker for scones - I really want to fix these, pronto - holiday or not! Found on The Idea Room.
This basic fruit salad is jazzed up by a honey lime glaze. A beautiful, colorful addition to your menu. Found on Eating On A Dime.
As an alternative to a grilled hot dog, try these! I can see the kids loving them. They are highly portable [like most hotdogs, I guess], simple to whip up, and could be easy cleanup. Found on Handmade in the Heartland.
These are so neat! Non-alcoholic, so they can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. I've made these before - just know when they suggest pouring slowly, they mean it! Otherwise you won't get the layered look you're looking for.
Found on Natural Beach Living.
So there are just a few recipe suggestions you can incorporate to make your 4th of July celebrations extra festive! I think I've decided that I will be devouring some of that red, white and blueberry cheesecake salad :)
