Girls Shopping Day
It's Spring Break! Well, technically, I don't get a designated Spring Break unless I just take a bunch of personal time from the office, but we'll just pretend, ok? I am totally committed to observing it objectively!
I did go ahead and take off work for a day to enjoy some shopping time with two of my sisters and my mama, who were legitimately on Spring Break.
We headed out to Lexington about mid-morning, just as happy as clams....
Our first stop was for coffee, naturally. But once in Lexington, we went to Kohls and the Dress Barn to hunt for Easter ensembles. Then we took a jaunt across town to eat some yummy lunch at Chuys.
Chuys Mexican restaurant has my heart. Everything is always so consistently good! I had my usual, which is the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas [HIGHLY RECOMMENDED], and a fair amount of their deliciously famous creamy jalapeno dip. We all four shared the tres leche cake and it was also amazing.
We sauntered over to Gordman's after eating. It has always been one of my favorite places to shop, especially their home goods section. I got these really cool Steve Madden glasses and a bunch of other this and that.
We then visited Lifeway Christian Bookstore, a place we all love.
I was able to procure some potential Vacation Bible School material, and got my paws on one of the new She Reads Truth Bibles that they were just sitting out. And they were on sale!!! [Read about She Reads Truth here] I watched an Instagram story a couple weeks ago from the She Reads Truth team, explaining the new Bible and it's many cool features. I am hoping I really enjoy it.
And then we meandered over to my second home....
Where I spent way too much money, as expected. I picked up some great new goodies to try out, including the Bare It All Pur Cosmetics foundation and the BH Cosmetics huge Smoky Eyes Eyeshadow Palette [only $14.50!]. We also selected a few things for my youngest sister, who's just starting to dip her toes into the world of makeup. She's gorgeous anyway - as are all my sisters - and needs no makeup. But I'm secretly excited she was interested!
I could have stayed in there in my Ulta heaven all day. My family - unlike my poor husband - has no idea how long I can go walking around, inspecting every tester in the entire store. I secretly sped up my shopping for everyone's sanity!
After traipsing around Lexington for almost seven hours, we were all so tired, especially me. I felt like I had more stamina than usual though, which is great, since I have been trying hard to exercise more these last few weeks. I do long for the day when I can shop til I drop, without feeling like I'm going to drop half way through. I will get there, someday!
It was a great trip. There were lots of belly laughs and life lessons. It's so fun spending quality time together and making memories. I wish everyone could get to experience a family like mine!
What fun things do you like to do on Spring Break? I would love to know!
