I'm totally a work in progress!

My name is Charity.
I'm a 31 year old, born and raised Kentucky girl, budget guru [I'm good at the job, terrible at math], doctor's wife, and pet mom of 2 dogs and one cat. I'm a Christian first, then a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I love my family and friends, but I also love a good bout of "alone time". My pets are my children, do not tell me otherwise. Makeup and chocolate are my vices. I love history, particularly American history. I also am a true crime junkie! Coffee is life. My favorite place in the entire world is Hatteras on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and I would rather be at the ocean than anywhere else on earth.
Why did you name this blog 'a cheerful life'?
The title came to me one day, way back many years ago when I first thought about creating a blog. I didn't particularly enjoy it, I wanted something more catchy - but nothing ever sounded more appropriate! It reflects everything that I want my life to be, and what I want this blog to accomplish: an atmosphere of community, positive vibes and cheerfulness!
Why really blog at all?
About five years ago, when I first got into reading blogs and using pinterest, there was a passion that stirred to do it for myself. I LOVE to write. I like to create. I am moderately good at operating a computer. Sometimes I have great ideas. I just felt like it was something I would enjoy, and over time [yes, FIVE YEARS], I finally decided to break out my shell and go for it! And here we are :)
